Haley J. Wactor is a contemporary fiction author drawn to the complicated, beautiful parts of being human—the relationships that shape us, the choices that change us, and the quiet ways people learn to begin again.
Her debut novel, Following the Stars, introduced readers to Pinehaven and the people whose lives continue beyond the final page. Its upcoming sequel, Under a Different Sky, follows Lucy into a story of healing, risk, friendship, and discovering that sometimes moving forward means letting go of the life you thought you were supposed to want.
In addition to her writing, Haley is a graduate social work student at Louisiana State University to become a licensed trauma therapist. Her purpose has always been centered around serving others and taking action in helping people to heal. Her passion for social work inspired her to write character-driven stories about ordinary people carrying things that aren't always visible from the outside, with a particular interest in relationships, resilience, grief, identity, and the messy process of becoming.
When she isn't writing, Haley is usually reading, researching topics like neuroplasticity and therapeutic intervention, or finding inspiration in the ordinary moments that eventually make their way into her fiction. She lives in Louisiana with her family and an assortment of animals who have absolutely no respect for writing deadlines.
